Ethics in Neuroscience Research

Description

With the rise of neuroethics as a research field of its own since the early 2000s, ethical questions concerning the neurosciences have become a major focus of bioethical debate, which will be the focus of this roundtable. Anna Olsson, will start this roundtable by discussing the implications of ethics and scientific integrity in animal experimentation. Next, João Cordeiro will discuss the social implications of science, focusing in aging, life extension and (im)mortality and the interface with digital health. The talk of Antonio Jacomo aims to reenforce the role of ethics on communication strategies of scientific message to society. To finalize, Carmen Sandi and Megan Carey will present the ALBA network aimed to foster diversity and equity in brain sciences as a fundamental component of excellence based on an individual's potential. This discussion will be of great relevance to those interested in the ethical aspects of research in neurosciences.
